There are many reasons why you shouldn’t store your music, photos or watch videos on a company machine. First of all, you have no idea if your company has monitoring software which could end with you being caught in an unpleasant situation. Another reason is that your files may be deleted or stolen. Some of you may think by watching streaming video , that don’t necessarily take up any memory on the hard drive, that you aren’t causing much harm, but streaming is actually quite straining on corporate technology networks  especially in smaller companies that have limited band width. While you are watching the latest clips on YouTube, you are not only lowering your productivity but also those of every one in the company that have to deal with increasingly slow internet connection. These video files are on average much larger then emails (100 times) and music files (7 times). “According to a study released last month by Nielsen Online, an Internet tracking service owned by Nielsen Co., the heaviest consumption of Internet video is during weekday lunch hours between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., when most people are at work.” Using company bandwidth for personal use is definitely an express rout to the front door. For More info  http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120459386857809135.html
